Eating chicklets, checking on new movies, long running discussion about boys, short run changing comments on make ups, cars and other vehicles, did we do the same good things way back in our college days? My answer'd be, sort of, ....Yes..
Me, Viju and Battu were friends fr life during MBA days. We used to have too many classes especially on saturdays which used to usually run till 7pm. The classes, thou were interesting, everything'd start to run above r heads aftr 5 in the evening. Then the chats'd start. Mobiles'd be busy msging to each other thou sittin next to one another. No one wanted to gain a lecturer's attention for an undue course of action. Despite that we'd start giggling in midst of class which'd eventually involve everyone and get warings from tutors. We'd long fr breaks and would plead to call it a day off. Once we were done with all the forcibly tied-up classes, a new world'd get revealed. Eat snacks(since the chats weren't available in r campus those days), gossip more about the guest lecturer than the guest lecture itself, and sink into r rooms with r new laptops loaded with movies more than subjects and presentations which mattered for the MBAcourse.
We'd get into study mode on and off, only once the exam dates were announced. Distinct stories of each friend in campus that we had known are worth remembering.
Those long talks over hostel dinner, crazy days of watching all the just then released pirated copies of movies, our study night-outs during exam, weekend escapes to our natives, last minute assignment preparations, those idiotic golden dreamy irresponsible days when we were thrilled just by a slight drizzle outside our rooms' window pane'd never return now, we know. But recalling them makes us feel lively and I can still feel the greens of GKVK onto my mind....
Despite all this, hats off to r campus which taught us to think, work and live to the fullest, rather than to merely earn a meek living.
GKVK Zindabad!
